Requirements For Nigerian Business Visas

Nigeria Business visa applicants must meet the following requirements. Remember you can also purchase one of our VIP services to help you manage most of these requirements for you and get your visa faster:

  • Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.

If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.

  • Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing departure from the US and arrival/departure for the destination.
  • Invitation Letter: Applicant must submit a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from the inviting party or organization. The LOI should contain the applicants name and title, detail the purpose of the visit, provide dates of the visit and should be signed by a company officer with contact details included.

    Scanned/printed copies are generally acceptable.

  • Certificate of Incorporation: Applicant must submit Certificate or Letter of Incorporation for the inviting company in Nigeria.
  • Business Cover Letter: Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US company. A BCL is an original document on company letterhead signed by a company official. It must provide the dates, duration and purpose of the trip. It should also include contact details (name and address) of an individual at the host company. Close the letter by accepting moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the template below.
  • Visa Application: Applicant must submit one completed visa application. Applications should be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink only.
  • Passport: Applicant must submit their current, signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the Embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required.

Guide To Using Your Nigeria Business Visa

When planning a business trip to Nigeria, it’s crucial to ensure that you have the proper visa to avoid any complications. The Nigerian business visa allows you to engage in business activities while in the country, including attending meetings, conferences, or negotiating contracts. Generally, you need to provide a variety of documents when applying, such as a valid passport, passport-sized photographs, an invitation letter from a Nigerian business partner, and proof of your travel itinerary. Ensure all your documents are accurate and up-to-date to facilitate a smooth application process.

Be aware that Nigeria has specific entry requirements that can affect your travel plans. It’s important to check for any travel advisories or health requirements, including vaccinations. The government may require a yellow fever vaccination certificate for entry, so be sure to have this on hand if applicable. Furthermore, familiarize yourself with local laws and customs to avoid unintentional legal issues. Understanding local etiquette can also enhance your business interactions, so take some time to research cultural norms, which can vary significantly from those in the United States.

One common pitfall many travelers encounter is visa delays due to incomplete applications or missing documents. To avoid this, double-check your application materials and follow instructions carefully. It’s also wise to apply for your visa as early as possible, especially if you are using expedited services, as unforeseen delays can happen. If you encounter any difficulties or something seems unclear, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. The visa application process can be overwhelming, but seeking help early can save you a lot of stress in the long run.

Always keep an eye on the expiration dates of your visa and plan your trip accordingly. Ensure that your schedule allows for any potential changes or delays, whether in business dealings or travel plans. Maintaining flexibility in your itinerary can be beneficial. Additionally, stay informed about any changes to visa policies or requirements that may occur before your departure. Various resources are available to ensure you’re updated on the latest regulations.
