Application Requirements For Chinese Visas In Boston

When applying for a Chinese visa in Boston, it’s essential to meet the specific documentation and eligibility requirements to ensure a smooth and successful application process. Whether you’re traveling for tourism, business, or another purpose, you’ll need to provide a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a recent passport-sized photo, and additional documents based on your visa type, such as an invitation letter or proof of travel arrangements. Travel Visa Pro simplifies this process by guiding you through each step and ensuring all your documents meet the consulate’s standards. Here are the requirements to apply for a China visa:

  • Former Chinese Nationals: If applicant is former Chinese or Taiwanese citizen, applicant must submit previous Chinese passport or proof of previously issued Chinese visa.
  • Visa Application Guide: Travel Visa Pro provides an “Application Guide” to help you understand how to fill out the application. Any errors may cause delays.

It is highly recommended you print the Application Guide and reference it while completing the visa application.

  • Copy of Driver’s License or State ID: Applicant must submit a legible color copy of driver’s license or state issued ID.
  • Previous Chinese Visa Applicants: For applicants who have previously held Chinese visas, the Embassy and consulate offices often request copies of previous visas.

If the previous visa is in the current passport there is no action required.

If the visa was in an old passport, please include either the old passport or clear color copies of the visas from the old passport. If applicant does not have the old passport, applicant may write a letter addressed to the Chinese Embassy explaining why they cannot provide copies of the old visas (such as previous passport lost, stolen, damaged, etc.). Applicant must sign and date the letter.

  • Previous Travel to Turkey, Kazakhstan, Israel, and/or Pakistan: If applicant has previously traveled to Turkey, Kazakhstan, Israel, and/or Pakistan, a personal letter of explanation is required. The letter must explain the reason for the travel as well as entry/exit dates to match the stamps in the traveler’s passport. The letter should be addressed to the “Consulate of the People’s Republic of China, Houston”, signed and dated.
  • Visa Application: Applicant must submit one complete, signed visa application. Applications MUST be printed SINGLE SIDED and signed in blue or black ink only. Original signatures are required.
  • Visa Validity Note: Visa validity (how long the visa is good for) may vary based on carrier at the Embassy’s discretion.
  • Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.

If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.

  • Airline Cover Letter: Applicant must submit a Airline Cover Letter from a U. S. airline office. The letter must be an original document, on company letterhead, signed by a company official. It must provide the employees name, file or badge number, date of birth, nationality, passport number and passport expiration date. Please review the template below.
  • Passport: Applicant must submit their current, signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the Embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required.
  • Crew ID Badge: Photocopy of front and back of Crew ID Badge is required
  • Job Description Form: All Crew applicants must complete the Job Description Form and include in the application kit. This form doesn’t need to be signed
  • Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing departure from the US and arrival/departure for the destination.
  • Foreign Expert Certificate: Confirmation Letter for High Level Foreign Talents issued by Chinese Government.
  • Invitation Letter: Applicant must submit a Letter of Invitation from the inviting party in China. The following information must be listed on the invitation letter:
    – Full Name
    – Date of Birth
    – Gender
    – Citizenship
    – Passport #
    – Passport Expiration

The letter must be addressed to the Consulate in your local jurisdiction:
    “China Embassy in Washington DC”
“Consulate General of China in Chicago”
“Consulate General of China in San Francisco”
“Consulate General of China in Los Angeles”
“Consulate General of China in New York”

The letter must explain the nature or purpose of business and the duration of the proposed business trip.

The letter must state the name as well as the addresses of individuals, departments and organizations in China you intend to visit.

The letter must specify the visa validity and number of entries, the applicant is asking for.

Apply For An Expedited China Visa In Boston

Traveling to China requires careful planning, particularly when it comes to securing your visa. Before embarking on your journey, it’s essential to determine the type of visa you need based on the purpose of your visit—be it tourism, business, study, or family. Chinese visa types vary significantly, and applying for the correct category ensures a smoother entry. Familiarize yourself with the application requirements, as these can include an invitation letter, proof of accommodation, or a detailed travel itinerary, depending on the visa type.

Once you’ve gathered the necessary documentation, ensure everything is complete and accurate. Mistakes or missing information can lead to delays or even rejection of your visa application. Consider utilizing expedited services if your travel plans are imminent; Travel Visa Pro specializes in helping clients navigate this process efficiently. Remember that processing times can vary based on the consulate, so allowing enough time is crucial to avoid any last-minute complications.

Be aware that upon your arrival in China, the immigration authorities will need to see your visa along with your passport. It’s advisable to keep physical and digital copies of these documents readily accessible throughout your travels. Additionally, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from China, as this is a common requirement that could affect your ability to enter the country.

While enjoying your stay, be mindful of local laws and regulations, as they can be quite different from those in the United States. Familiarize yourself with the customs and any specific travel restrictions that may be in place, especially concerning photography, local interactions, and online usage. Understanding these cultural nuances not only enhances your travel experience but also helps you avoid unintentional violations that could lead to legal issues.

Lastly, consider the importance of travel insurance. In case of unexpected circumstances, such as medical emergencies or changes in your travel plans, comprehensive travel insurance can provide peace of mind. It’s always better to be prepared for unforeseen incidents, ensuring your focus remains on enjoying the sights, sounds, and experiences that China has to offer. With careful preparation and the right support, your journey can be both rewarding and memorable.
