- Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.
If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.
- Letter of Invitation: Applicant must submit a letter of invitation from your partner in Burundi.
The letter must be addressed to the Embassy of Burundi.
The letter must explain the nature or purpose of business and the duration of the proposed business trip.
The letter must state the name as well as the addresses of individuals, departments and organizations in Burundi you intend to visit.
The letter must specify the visa validity and number of entries, the applicant is asking for.
The letter must be on company letterhead and bear signature/stamp.
- Visa Application: Applicant must submit two completed visa applications. Original signature required. Applications should be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink only.
- Business Cover Letter: Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US company. A BCL is an original document on company letterhead signed by a company official. It must provide the dates, duration and purpose of the trip. It should also include contact details (name and address) of an individual at the host company. Close the letter by accepting moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the template below.

When traveling to Burundi on a business visa, it’s crucial to understand the application process and abide by the essential guidelines. First and foremost, ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry. Additionally, prepare supporting documents such as a letter of invitation from your Burundian business counterpart, proof of sufficient funds, and a detailed itinerary of your planned activities. Familiarizing yourself with these requirements will help streamline the application process and reduce the potential for delays.
While the visa application process can be straightforward, be mindful of several key factors. Processing times can vary, so applying well in advance is recommended to avoid any last-minute stress. Similarly, double-check all your documentation for accuracy, as discrepancies can lead to rejections or complications. Keep in mind that Rwanda borders Burundi, and frequent travel to this neighboring country may require additional planning for your itinerary or visa needs.
Cultural awareness can significantly enhance your business interactions in Burundi. The local business culture tends to be more formal and hierarchical, so approach meetings with respect and professionalism. Having some understanding of the French language may be beneficial, as it is one of the official languages. However, English is also widely understood in business contexts. Take the time to build relationships and allow for a slower pace during negotiations; establishing a rapport can be just as vital as securing a contract.
Safety is another important consideration. While Burundi is generally safe for visitors, it’s prudent to stay informed about local conditions and adhere to travel advisories. Be cautious in unfamiliar areas, avoid displaying valuable items, and respect local customs and practices. Remember to stay updated on any health requirements, such as vaccinations, that may be necessary for entry into the country.
