Zambia Business visa applicants must meet the following requirements. Remember you can also purchase one of our VIP services to help you manage most of these requirements for you and get your visa faster:
- Business Cover Letter: Applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US company. A BCL is an original document on company letterhead signed by a company official. It must provide the dates, duration and purpose of the trip. It should also include contact details (name and address) of an individual at the host company. Close the letter by accepting moral and financial responsibility for the applicant. Please review the template below.
- Invitation Letter: Applicant must submit a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from the inviting party or organization. The LOI should contain the applicants name and title, detail the purpose of the visit, provide dates of the visit and should be signed by a company officer with contact details included.
Scanned/printed copies are generally acceptable.
- Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing departure from the US and arrival/departure for the destination.
- Visa Application: Applicant must submit one completed visa application. Applications should be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink only.
- Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.
If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.
- Passport: Applicant must submit their current, signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the Embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required.

When traveling to Zambia on a business visa, it is essential to familiarize yourself with the country’s regulations and requirements to ensure a smooth journey. The Zambian government requires that all visitors possess a valid passport, a return ticket, and a visa approved before arrival. Standard processing times for business visas can vary, but applying well in advance can prevent potential delays. You can begin the application process online, where you’ll fill out the necessary forms and upload supporting documents.
It’s important to note that Zambia issues different types of business visas, so identifying the correct visa type for your business activities is crucial. For instance, if you’re attending conferences, meetings, or training sessions, you’ll need to apply for a business visitor’s visa. Moreover, any documents like invitation letters from Zambian businesses or organizations should be officially signed and dated to validate your purpose of travel. Missing documentation can lead to denials or delays in processing your visa application.
While Zambia is a welcoming nation, being aware of cultural norms and business etiquette can facilitate successful interactions. Punctuality is highly valued in the Zambian business community, so arrive on time for meetings. Additionally, maintaining respectful communication is vital; ensure you greet your acquaintances when entering a meeting room or public space. Dress modestly and professionally to reflect respect for local customs, which can positively influence your business relationships.
Travelers should also be prepared for potential health risks when visiting Zambia. It is recommended to consult with a healthcare provider prior to departure regarding vaccinations, such as yellow fever, and to consider antimalarial medications based on your travel itinerary. Familiarize yourself with local laws and customs as well. For instance, public displays of affection may be frowned upon in some contexts. Staying alert and aware of your surroundings is key to a safe experience.
