Application Requirements For Brazilian Visas In Chicago
When applying for a Brazilian visa in Chicago, it’s essential to meet the specific documentation and eligibility requirements to ensure a smooth and successful application process. Whether you’re traveling for tourism, business, or another purpose, you’ll need to provide a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a recent passport-sized photo, and additional documents based on your visa type, such as an invitation letter or proof of travel arrangements. Travel Visa Pro simplifies this process by guiding you through each step and ensuring all your documents meet the consulate’s standards. Here are the requirements to apply for a Brazil visa:
- e-Visa Notice: Using this program, applicant does not send any physical documents to Travel Visa Pro. The entire process is handled electronically. When the visa is issued, applicant will be provided an electronic confirmation to print and carry while traveling.
- Business Cover Letter: The applicant travelling to Brazil for business reasons (i.e. meetings, consulting, auditing, site visit, signing contracts, cruise or airline crew members, etc.) must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US-based employer or Brazilian host-company.
A BCL can be a scanned document on company’s letterhead signed by a company’s official. The letter must state:
• visit dates and duration,
• purpose of the trip (description of business activities to be done),
• applicant’s job title, job description and monthly salary;
• contact details of the host company (name, address, phone)
• contact details of an individual (name, title, address, phone, email) at the host company.
• Affirmation of company’s financial responsibility of the applicant during the trip;
• A statement indicating that “no technical work, assistance or training” will be provided during stay in Brazil. Such activities require a VITEM temporary work visa. - Notice For Placing Order for E-visa: When placing your order online you will be asked to select inbound and return shipping options. As E-visa’s are handled electronically and no physical documents need to be sent, if only ordering E-visa(s), select “Applicant will handle shipping” to avoid unnecessary shipping fees.
- Digital Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit one (1) digital, color, passport style photograph (neutral expression, no glasses may be worn). See an example link below.
Alternatively, you can take a good quality “selfie” with your smartphone against light plain background and email to us at evisa@travelvisapro.com. FOR $15 Photo Service fee, we will resize and retouch it for you to fit requirements perfectly.
- Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing the entry and the departure from Brazil.
- Brazil e-Visa Application Worksheet: Applicant must submit one completed visa application worksheet.
- Scanned Copy of Passport: Applicant must submit a color scan the valid, signed passport. See example of correctly scanned passport copy on the link below.
Passport must be valid for at least SIX (6) months after the intended arrival to Brazil.
Passport must also have at least one (1) completely blank page for visa/entry stamping upon arrival in Brazil. Amendment pages do not count.
- Applicants Under 18yrs: Although applicant may be submitting documents along with other family members, when submitted to an embassy or consulate, applications are treated individually. If applicant is under 18 years old, please view the following link.
- Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.
If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.
- Proof of Sufficient Funds: Applicant must submit a NOTARIZED copy of their most recent bank statement. The statement must show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balance of the account and the date of the statement.
The available balance should be greater than $200 USD per day in country. For example, if spending 10 days in the country, statement should show balance in excess of $2,000 USD.
- Visa Application: Applicant must submit one completed Brazil visa application. The application is completed online. After clicking the link below to launch the application site:
1) Change the language preference from Portuguese (Brasil) to English in the upper right.
2) Review the information provided, then click “Start New application” at the bottom of the page.

If applicant does not have a state issued ID or has recently moved and not updated their ID, applicant must also provide a recent utility bill (sewer, water, electric)

Apply For An Expedited Brazil Visa In Chicago
Planning a trip to Brazil can be an exciting experience, but navigating the visa requirements can be a bit daunting. As an American traveler, it’s crucial to understand that a visa is generally required for visits lasting longer than 90 days, or for certain activities such as work or studies. To ensure a smooth process, begin by gathering all necessary documentation, including your passport, recent photos, proof of accommodation, and any pertinent travel itineraries. Working with Travel Visa Pro can streamline this experience, allowing you to focus on the fun aspects of your trip.
When applying for a visa to Brazil, you have the option of expedited and rush services, which can be invaluable if you are working under tight time constraints. Be mindful of the processing times and verify whether extra documentation is needed, especially if you plan to participate in any specific activities like business meetings or academic pursuits. Prompt submission of complete and accurate information is essential to avoid delays, so double-check all entries on your visa application before submitting.
One important aspect to keep in mind is that Brazil has specific health requirements. Depending on your travel history, you may need proof of vaccinations, notably for yellow fever if you’re traveling from certain countries. Ensuring you meet these health guidelines is key to avoiding complications upon arrival. We recommend consulting the latest health advisories from reputable sources, as well as incorporating any necessary vaccines well ahead of your trip.
Always be aware of Brazil’s cultural norms as well. Understanding local customs and behaviors not only enhances your travel experience but also helps in avoiding any unintentional faux pas. For example, it’s common in Brazilian culture to greet with a handshake and maintain eye contact. Additionally, brushing up on a few basic Portuguese phrases can go a long way in making your interactions more pleasant and respectful.
Finally, consider your entry and exit plans. Brazil is home to diverse attractions from urban adventures in São Paulo to natural wonders in the Amazon. Be sure to plan your itinerary in a way that allows ample time to explore while considering any transportation requirements between locations. If you have specific destinations in mind, inquire about regional visa rules as they may differ. With proper preparation and the support of Travel Visa Pro, your journey to Brazil can be a seamless and rewarding adventure.

Guide To Traveling To Brazil With A Visa
Traveling to Brazil can be an exciting experience, but navigating the visa process may seem daunting. It’s essential first to determine the type of visa you need based on the purpose of your visit, whether it’s for tourism, business, study, or other reasons. Brazil generally requires a tourist visa for Americans planning to stay for up to 90 days. The process involves gathering necessary documentation, filling out forms, and potentially attending an appointment at the Brazilian consulate. Ensure you start this process well in advance of your planned trip to account for processing times and any unexpected delays.
When applying for a Brazilian visa, you should pay close attention to the required documents. This usually includes a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining, passport-sized photos, proof of onward travel, and evidence of sufficient financial means for your stay. It’s wise to double-check the latest requirements from official sources or consult with an experienced visa service like Travel Visa Pro to avoid mistakes that could delay your application. Additionally, ensure all submitted documents are in the proper format and language, as per Brazilian consulate guidelines.
Keep in mind that while the standard processing time for a Brazil visa can vary, opting for expedited services often leads to much quicker outcomes. Travel Visa Pro offers rush and expedited services for those needing to travel on short notice. If you select this option, make sure all your documentation is in order prior to submission to reduce the risk of delays. Also, be ready for possible interviews or additional information requests, as Brazilian authorities may seek further clarification during the process.
Before you depart for Brazil, familiarize yourself with cultural customs and regulations. Understanding local laws and etiquette, such as dressing modestly when visiting religious sites or respecting noise levels during late hours, can significantly enhance your experience. Additionally, be aware of health requirements, including vaccinations that may be necessary for entry, depending on your recent travel history.
Finally, stay informed of any travel advisories or changing regulations due to the dynamic nature of international travel. Keeping a close eye on the news and updates from the U.S. State Department or the Brazilian government will help ensure a smooth trip. Always have a backup of your important documents, including your visa and travel insurance, both in physical and digital forms. With these guidelines, you can navigate the visa process and prepare for a memorable adventure in Brazil with confidence.
