Application Requirements For Brazilian Visas In Boston
When applying for a Brazilian visa in Boston, it’s essential to meet the specific documentation and eligibility requirements to ensure a smooth and successful application process. Whether you’re traveling for tourism, business, or another purpose, you’ll need to provide a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a recent passport-sized photo, and additional documents based on your visa type, such as an invitation letter or proof of travel arrangements. Travel Visa Pro simplifies this process by guiding you through each step and ensuring all your documents meet the consulate’s standards. Here are the requirements to apply for a Brazil visa:
- e-Visa Notice: Using this program, applicant does not send any physical documents to Travel Visa Pro. The entire process is handled electronically. When the visa is issued, applicant will be provided an electronic confirmation to print and carry while traveling.
- Business Cover Letter: The applicant travelling to Brazil for business reasons (i.e. meetings, consulting, auditing, site visit, signing contracts, cruise or airline crew members, etc.) must submit a Business Cover Letter (BCL) from a US-based employer or Brazilian host-company.
A BCL can be a scanned document on company’s letterhead signed by a company’s official. The letter must state:
• visit dates and duration,
• purpose of the trip (description of business activities to be done),
• applicant’s job title, job description and monthly salary;
• contact details of the host company (name, address, phone)
• contact details of an individual (name, title, address, phone, email) at the host company.
• Affirmation of company’s financial responsibility of the applicant during the trip;
• A statement indicating that “no technical work, assistance or training” will be provided during stay in Brazil. Such activities require a VITEM temporary work visa. - Notice For Placing Order for E-visa: When placing your order online you will be asked to select inbound and return shipping options. As E-visa’s are handled electronically and no physical documents need to be sent, if only ordering E-visa(s), select “Applicant will handle shipping” to avoid unnecessary shipping fees.
- Digital Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit one (1) digital, color, passport style photograph (neutral expression, no glasses may be worn). See an example link below.
Alternatively, you can take a good quality “selfie” with your smartphone against light plain background and email to us at evisa@travelvisapro.com. FOR $15 Photo Service fee, we will resize and retouch it for you to fit requirements perfectly.
- Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a flight reservation from a travel agency or online booking tool (such as an e-confirmation) showing the entry and the departure from Brazil.
- Brazil e-Visa Application Worksheet: Applicant must submit one completed visa application worksheet.
- Scanned Copy of Passport: Applicant must submit a color scan the valid, signed passport. See example of correctly scanned passport copy on the link below.
Passport must be valid for at least SIX (6) months after the intended arrival to Brazil.
Passport must also have at least one (1) completely blank page for visa/entry stamping upon arrival in Brazil. Amendment pages do not count.
- Applicants Under 18yrs: Although applicant may be submitting documents along with other family members, when submitted to an embassy or consulate, applications are treated individually. If applicant is under 18 years old, please view the following link.
- Photo Requirement: Applicant must submit two (2) identical, color, passport style photographs (no glasses may be worn). The photos must be recent and generally should not be the same used for the passport itself.
If ordering concierge service or Document Pre-Check, you may upload digital photos through your account at no additional cost. Otherwise you can choose to submit digital photos to us via email after placing your order. Simply email them to orders@travelvisapro.com with the applicants full name and order number in the subject line. Additional $20 Photo Printing fee will be added to your request.
- Proof of Sufficient Funds: Applicant must submit a NOTARIZED copy of their most recent bank statement. The statement must show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balance of the account and the date of the statement.
The available balance should be greater than $200 USD per day in country. For example, if spending 10 days in the country, statement should show balance in excess of $2,000 USD.
- Visa Application: Applicant must submit one completed Brazil visa application. The application is completed online. After clicking the link below to launch the application site:
1) Change the language preference from Portuguese (Brasil) to English in the upper right.
2) Review the information provided, then click “Start New application” at the bottom of the page.

- Proof of Residency: Applicant must submit a legible color copy of their driver’s license or state issued ID.
If applicant does not have a state issued ID or has recently moved and not updated their ID, applicant must also provide a recent utility bill (sewer, water, electric)

Apply For An Expedited Brazil Visa In Boston
Obtaining a visa for Brazil is an essential step for any traveler planning to visit this vibrant country. As part of the visa application process, you’ll need to determine which type of visa suits your visit. For most travelers embarking on tourism, a tourist visa (VITEM IV) is required. International participants attending events, conferences, or academic activities may need a business visa or a study visa, depending on the nature of their trip. Gather all necessary documents, including a recent passport-sized photo, proof of accommodation, and your flight itinerary, to streamline the application process.
One of the most crucial aspects to remember when applying for a Brazil visa is ensuring that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay. Additionally, the passport must have at least two blank pages for visa placement. Incomplete or incorrect paperwork is one of the top reasons for delays or denials, so double-check all forms and supporting documents before submission. If you find the requirements overwhelming, consider using a visa service like Travel Visa Pro, where experts can guide you through the documentation process and prevent any missteps.
While the visa application process is generally straightforward, there are some common pitfalls that you should be aware of. Be cautious of the visa validity period and the timeframe for which it allows you to stay in Brazil. Some visas may permit multiple entries, while others are single-entry only. Also, keep your visa safe and handy during your travels, as you may need to present it at various checkpoints. Don’t forget to check any specific regional restrictions or requirements that may pertain to the area of Brazil you plan to visit.
Timing is another critical factor to consider. If you’re in a rush, Travel Visa Pro offers expedited visa services that can significantly speed up the process. Standard processing can take 5 to 15 business days, but if you’re in a predicament, a rush visa may be available for processing in just 1 to 3 business days. Regardless of the speed of your application, always allow yourself a buffer for any unforeseen circumstances that may arise.
Finally, once your visa is in hand, be informed and respectful of local laws and customs in Brazil. Familiarizing yourself with travel advisories and local regulations can enhance your travel experience and minimize potential issues. A warm and friendly demeanor will help you navigate interactions with locals, making your trip all the more enjoyable. Trust Travel Visa Pro to streamline your visa application process, allowing you to focus on planning the incredible experiences waiting for you in Brazil.

Guide To Traveling To Brazil With A Visa
Traveling to Brazil can be an exhilarating experience, but understanding the visa application process is crucial to ensure a smooth trip. The Brazilian government requires U.S. citizens to have a visa for most purposes of entry, including tourism, business, and study. At Travel Visa Pro, we simplify this process by helping you navigate the necessary documentation, ensuring that your application is complete and submitted correctly the first time. Whether you’re planning a vacation to the stunning beaches of Rio de Janeiro or attending an academic conference in São Paulo, we’ve got you covered.
When applying for a Brazilian visa, it’s important to gather all required documents early in the process. This usually includes your passport, a completed visa application form, photographs, and proof of accommodations or an itinerary. For certain visa types, you may also need a letter of invitation or supporting documents from your employer or educational institution. Keep in mind that your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from Brazil, so check this well in advance to avoid any issues.
Be aware that the visa processing times can vary based on the type of visa and the volume of applications at the consulate. While standard processing can take several weeks, Travel Visa Pro offers rush and expedited services to help you meet tight deadlines. Our dedicated team ensures that your application is prioritized and handled with care, minimizing the stress that often accompanies international travel documentation.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Brazil has specific entry requirements, especially related to health regulations. Travelers may need to provide proof of vaccinations, such as yellow fever, depending on the areas they plan to visit. It’s also wise to stay informed about any travel advisories or changes in entry requirements that may affect your journey.
Finally, once you receive your visa, double-check the details for accuracy, including the dates of validity and the reason for your travel. Carry all relevant documents with you when traveling, as you may be asked to present them upon entering Brazil. At Travel Visa Pro, we understand the intricacies of international travel and are here to support you through every step of the visa process, ensuring that your adventure in Brazil starts off on the right foot.
